Mrs. Iris Virginia Hall Stalvey Disbrow, 90, resident of the Health Center of Lake City, Florida, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 4, 2006 surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Disbrow, daughter of Robert Fulton Hall and Johnnie Cecil Crosby Hall, was born August 7, 1916 at her maternal grandparent's farm near Baker's Mill, Hamilton Co., Florida.

As a child, she lived in a house across the road from Evergreen Baptist Church. During a trip with her family to Branford, Florida, she met her future husband, Samuel T. Stalvey, Jr. They were married May 14, 1934 in Mayo, Florida and settled on a family farm near Branford where her husband's family owned the Stalvey Hotel. During those early years, a bridge spanning the Suwannee River and joining Lafayette and Suwannee counties was being built. Iris and her husband moved into the Hotel to help out. Sam continued working the family farms with his father while Iris tended to the duties of helping keep the hotel tidy. Their first daughter was born in the Hotel. The next three children were born in a wooden homestead on family land due south of the Hotel. In 1950, the family moved to Lake City, Florida where the youngest son was born.

She is predeceased by her first husband, Samuel T. Stalvey, Jr.; her second husband, Herbert C. Disbrow; her father, Robert Fulton Hall; her mother, Johnnie Cecil Crosby Hall. Brothers: Russell Ovey Hall, Theodore Woodrow Hall, Carlton Lavern Hall and Henry Dent Hall; Sisters: Lear Enid Hall Holt and Annie Bernice Hall. Daughter-in-law, Melissa Wheeler Stalvey and Granddaughter, Tina Ann Stalvey Mancil.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters; Katherine Celeste Williams, Wellborn, Florida and Esther Virginia Stalvey Richter (Bill), Lee, Florida. Three sons: Sam, III, Robert Gerald Stalvey, Allen Michael Stalvey, Sr. (Debra) all of Lake City, Florida. Brother-in-law, Rupert P.
