On October 4, 1940, she married Bill Akker and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1977.
Fern was an avid bowler, enjoyed sewing and was an animal lover.
Above all else, Fern will be remembered for her ability to laugh and joke around.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Cremation will follow the services and burial will take place in Almena Cemetery.
Fern is survived by her sister, and 5 nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by:
her two brothers: Larry and Vernon Smith
and a niece.
Memorial donations may be made to Plainwell Pines Nursing Home or Reverence Hospice.
