LEONARD BYRON "PEANUT" ANDREWS, 86, of Duncan, died Friday, November 10, 2006, in Meridian Nursing Home in Comanche.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Jody Hilliard officating. Interment is under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Leonard was born June 2, 1920, in Comanche, to Will M. and Susie M. Parks Andrews. He married Janie Ruth Stogner on Aug. 9, 1941. She preceded him in death April 10, 2001.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Leonard began working for Halliburton Services on June 2, 1941, and retired Dec. 31, 1982. He was a Mason. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and working his cattle. He also loved working on internal combustion engines. He attended First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly S. Cordova of Cloverdale, Calif.; a son, Don Andrews of Duncan; seven grandchildren, Byron Phillips, Ramona Quesenberry, Monica Cordova, Juan Mateo Cordova, Amy Williamson, Toni Cool and Jeremiah "Duke" Andrews; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, L.B. Andrews, in 2004; two brothers, Leo Andrews and Lowell Andrews; and a sister, Roslin Joy.
