Born Violet Krauth (also known as Marilyn Morgan, in Trinidad, West Indies, she is best known for her role as 'Trilby' in the 1931 film "Svengali", with John Barrymore. After making her movie debut with a minor role in the film "The Sophomore" in 1929, she had notable performances in the films "Hell's Angels" (1930), "Five Star Final" (1931) with Edward G. Robinson, "The Mad Genius" (1931), "The Black Room" (1935), and "House of Errors" (1942).
