The McLaughlins moved to Oregon in 1910, settling in Florence. Clark McLaughlin worked as a laborer for the railroad, he helped build the road from Toledo to western Lane County, worked in the forest service under Archie Knowles, and logged for the Veatch Company on the North Fork.
When his first wife died, he remarried to Margaret Wessell, March 20, 1920 in Lincoln Co, Newport, Oregon.
No children from this marriage.
