W. H. (Harris) Fitzpatrick, Jr., 93, passed away September 21, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. Visitation will be 2pm-3pm Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Stringer Family Chapel.

Mr. Fitzpatrick was a member of the Brookhaven Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. A native of Austell, GA, he attended Georgia Tech and Millsaps College. He retired in 1988 from South Central Bell after 35 years as a building and planning engineer. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mr. Fitzpatrick was a fantastic woodworker and enjoyed a lifetime of farming and raising cattle and hay. "Mr. Fitz" as he was known had a calm, meek personality and was loved by everyone. He loved his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Marguerite "Pete" Fitzpatrick.

He is survived by his son, Wes Fitzpatrick, III (Vickie), of Brookhaven; daughter, Harriet Fitzpatrick Brister of Crystal Springs; sister, Ann Strickland of Austell, GA; five grandchildren; Heather Megehee (Glenn), Jason Brister (Amy Scanlon, fiancee), Holly Brister, Shannon Fitzpatrick (Risi), and Collyn Fitzpatrick; and three great grandchildren.
