Betty Jo Scott, age 83 of Newport, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Bertie Norwood; brothers, Burl, Hazel, Bob, Henry, and Jack Norwood; sisters, Grace, Vera, Mildred, Jewel, Johnnie Ray, Mollie Jean, Lois, and Clara; and grandson, Dustin Aaron Scott.
She is survived by her sons, Rodney Scott of Morristown and Edward Scott of Newport; daughters, Maphra (Mackey) Wilson of Strawberry Plains, Denise (Randy) Mooneyham of Chestnut Hill, and Sheri Shelton of Newport; grandchildren, Jeremy Chester, Isaiah Wilson, Mackey Wilson, Jr., Jake Mooneyham, Macey Brown, Jessicca Scott, and Samantha Shelton; great-grandchildren, Sarah Chester, Samuel Chester, Caitlin Shiverdecker, and Julie Worley; and sisters, Eyvonne Brewer of Pennsylvania and Christine Russ of Cherryville, North Carolina.
Funeral service will be at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, June 15, 2016 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buford Burnette officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, June, 16, 2016 in the Big Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the Funeral Service.
