MRS. HENRY (LORRAINE) CANFIELD 

Mrs. Henry (Lorraine) Canfield, 77, long-time Webster City area resident, died Tuesday afternoon at the Hamilton County hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. V. Clay Noah officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery. Lorraine (Laurena) Florence Dayton, daughter of Harry M. and Clara Dingman Dayton, was born Nov. 1, 1898 in Lehigh. She was reared and educated in the Webster City schools. On April 22, 1916, she was united in marriage to Henry (Happy) Canfield, and the couple farmed for several years south of Webster City before moving in to Webster City, her home since.
She is survived by two daughters and one son, Mrs. Roger N. (Catherine) Johnson of Eldorado, Kan., Mrs. Harold E. (Ida) Riley of Webster City and Harry Canfield of Webster City; one grandson, Ronald Aikins of Marshalltown, who was reared in the Canfield home; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by three sisters: Mrs. Stella Wells, Mrs. Vera Goodrich, and Mrs. Taro (Veda) Smeesu, all of Webster City. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973; two daughters; her parents, one brother and one sister. Mrs. Canfield was a member of the First Baptist church and a former member of the Senior Citizens and the Moose Lodge.
