James (Jim) Herbert Morton, age 80 of 319 Montvale Road, Maryville passed away at 8:00 PM Blount Memorial Hospital Friday.

Survived by wife, Mrs. Jim Morton, Maryville. 4 daughters: Mrs. Herschel Teeple of Clark Range, Tenn.; Mrs. Lee Garrett, Mrs. John Fuller, and Mrs. Ralph Clark all of Maryville, 9 sons: Lewis of Gatlinburg, John, Roy, Jimmy, Hollis, Donald, Ronald, Terry, and the late Jack Morton all of Maryville, 43 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. 4 sisters: Mrs. Nola Harrell of Sweetwater, Mrs. Lula Willis, Mrs. Beaulah Henson, and Mrs. Irvin Skeen, all of Maryville. 2 brothers: Fred of Maryville and Paul, Detroit, several nieces and nephews.

The body was taken home at 3:00 PM Saturday. Funeral service 3:00 PM Monday at Madison Avenue Baptist in Maryville, with Rev. Glenn Grubb and Rev. W. C. Henry officiating. Interment in Clarks Grove Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. The family will receive friends at any time of the family home.
