Mediapolis (IA) -- Mrs. George W. Walker died December 9 at a nursing home in Mt. Pleasant.
Matilda Elizabeth Wischmeier, daughter of Christian and Johanna Wischmeier, was born near Latty, in Des Moines county, on November 26, 1864. She was married to George W. Walker on March 9, 1886. Walker died February 21, 1949.
Mrs. Walker was the last of a family of 7 children. She is survived by 3 sons and 3 daughters: Boyd I., Walker, Detroit; Roy C. Walker, Ames; Forrest C. Walker, Mediapolis; Mrs. Idella M. Brun, Danville, Mrs. Viola Jackson, Kalona, and Mrs. Ethel McDonald, of New London.
Two children died in infancy.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Last rites will be held at the Methodist church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Kossuth cemetery.
