Born in West Farnham, Quebec, Canada. Son of Jean Baptiste Hermas DesLauriers (known as "Hermas") and Arzelia/Celia (Roy). Brother of Will, Joseph, Eva, and Homer DesLauriers. Husband of Teresa (Rock). They married on Oct. 3, 1905 in Montpelier, Vermont and had one child: Frederick R. DesLauriers. Alfred was a Spanish American War Veteran. At the time of his marriage, he was employed as a stonecutter in Montpelier and later, in 1918, as a Patrolman for the city of Montpelier, Vermont. The 1930 census lists him with his wife Teresa in Lowell, Massachusetts, with his being employed as a stonecutter in a granite quarry.
