Grace Evalena* Pundt, 79, of China Spring, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2006, in Waco, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the OakCrest Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the OakCrest Funeral Home.

Grace, the youngest of six children, was born in Ripley, Mississippi, to the late Covus Randolph and Evalena* Byrd Anderson. She attended China Spring schools and in 1945, she married William M. Pundt of China Spring.

Grace was a member of the First Baptist Church of China Spring and enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher for many years. She touched the lives of many people. One of the greatest pleasures in her life was writing letters to her friends and family across the country. Grace also enjoyed working on genealogy, cooking for her family, and being a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Brewer Anderson; and sisters, Jewel Davis and Crystal Gray.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, William "Bill", of China Spring; sons, Steve Pundt of Duncanville, and Bruce Pundt of China Spring; daughter, Carolyn K. Duffer; grandchildren, Steve E. Pundt, Jeff Duffer, Brian Duffer and wife, Selena; great-grandchild, Jessica Duffer; sisters, Opal Davis and husband, Rev. A. L. Davis, and Mabel Alexander, and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

*The parents of Mrs. Pundt, their last child of six beloved children, named her Grace EVALENA, after her Mother. Aunt Grace was pleased and proud to carry her name. Sadly, the precious name was misspelled on her Birth Certificate, and Aunt Grace actually wanted GRACE EVALENA to be shown on her headstone..…(Information provided by a very close loving and loved niece, Nancy.)
