He served in the Navy during WWII, practiced dentistry in Glendale for 35 years, and was active in numerous community organizations including Kiwanis, Masonic Lodge, Oakmont Country Club and the USC Alumni Association.
An avid golfer, fisherman, and skier, he leaves his wife, Carol Clayton Pestor; four children, Judy Gibson of Costa Mesa, CA; Ron Whitney-Whyte of West Hollyood, CA; Cheryl Pestor of Pasadena, CA, and Randy Pestor of Sacramento, CA; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Kugies and Jim Hicks, and great-grandson, Reef Kugies of Costa Mesa, CA.
Graveside service was Nov 1, 2006.
