Death of Young Bride

The remains of Mrs. C. A. Nevius, who died at a hospital in Oklahoma City, early last Thursday morning, were brought Thursday to Alex Thursday evening and laid to rest in the cemetery at Baily the following day. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Akers of Brady. The death of Alta Adkins Nevius is peculiarily sad, as she was only 19 years of age and a bride of two short months, just entering into the responsibilities of life. She had just opened the door to a new life filled with hopes and ambitions only to have it suddenly closed and the spirit of life and light flown. It is one of the mysteries to be revealed when the end of time shall appear and the wisdom of the ruler of the universe is made clear.

Becoming ill two weeks ago, she was taken to Oklahoma City for an operation. She passed through the trying ordeal and seemed to be on the road to recovery, when a change for the worse took place and death followed. She was a member of the Methodist church and died with the hope of a fairer home in the unsetting sun, and await the arrival of dear ones to come. May the sweet memories of her young life linger as a choice perfume in the memory of those who knew and loved her best.
