Mrs. Edna Viola Smith Stitely, 93, of Woodsboro, died Monday, July 23, at College View Nursing Home, Frederick.
She was the wife of William T. Stitely, who died in 1989.
Born Aug. 19, 1907, near Libertytown, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Mary Snyder Smith.
Mrs. Stitely was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Frederick.
Surviving are one sister, Catherine Castle of Troutsville; daughter-in-law, Jocelyn Wetzel of Frederick; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Stitely will also be remembered by her friends Larry and Mary Fogle of Woodsboro and their children.
Mrs. Stitely was preceded in death by one son, Donald Wetzel, in 1996; and one sister-in-law, Irene Smith.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Burnis D. Barrett officiating.
Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery, Libertytown.
