Doc Halpin, a bricklayer from Monaghan County, Ireland, came here in the 1830's and settled in Randolph County Alabama. He fathered seven children before he was killed during the Civil War in 1861. His wife is buried a Wesley's Chapel.

Murdered by the Home Guard during civil war.

James married Matilda Rogers.

Child of the couple is Mary M. Halpin.
