Mrs. E. O. Spencer Services Today
Funeral services for Mrs. E. O. Spencer, 81, of 216 East Quincy Street, for 14 years President of the Barnard E. Bee Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy, who died Sunday evening in Taylor at the home of a daughter, Mrs. R. K. Wilson, will held Tuesday morning.
Mrs. Spencer was a native of Texas, having been born in Brazoria County she had lived in San Antonio for many years. She had been president of the Barnard E. Bee Chapter since 1903 with the exception of 1915 and 1916 when she was State president of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Active pallbearers will be R. K. Wilson, R. K. Wilson, Jr., T. J. Newton, T. J. Newton, Jr., Joe L. Cunningham and Spencer Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the United Confederate Veterans.
Mrs. Spencer leaves three daughters, Mrs. T. J. Newton, Mrs. E. D. Jones of San Antonio and Mrs. R. K. Wilson of Taylor; one brother, Judge T. B. Russell of Brownsville; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Russell Dunlop of San Antonio, and two nieces, Mrs. W. E. Ferguson of Houston and Mrs. Joe L. Cunningham of San Antonio.
