Janice Mitchell Fishel, 66, of Riggleman Drive, Timberville, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. She had been in failing health for several months.
Mrs. Fishel was born May 1, 1936, in Bridgewater, and was a daughter of the late French and Rosa Flick Fishback.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Grottoes Church of Christ and attended the Independent Community Church.
On Oct. 20, 2001, she married Norval E. Fishel, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Debbie Smith of Singers Glen and Karen Yingling of Westminster, Md.; three stepsons, Merv Fishel of Broadway, Tim Fishel of Mount Crawford, and Gary Fishel of Mount Solon; two brothers, Arnold Fishback and Leroy Fishback, both of Bridgewater; two sisters, Willodene Sheets of Finksburg, Md., and Arvetta Wean of Maryland; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The Revs. Roger Hart and Alvin Dove will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Thursday at the Grottoes Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Bridgewater.
