He was an award winning CBS News radio and TV reporter for over 35 years. His distinctive voice was heard nationally at the top of the hour on the CBS "World News Roundup" and "The World Tonight". He worked on "30 Minutes", a weekly TV news magazine series aimed at children that ran from 1978 to 1982. From 1995 to 2006 he produced, wrote and narrated the daily CBS Radio Network broadcast "What's in the News". He was also the host of the Emmy award-winning children's program "In the News". He anchored the coverage of dozens of space shuttle missions and was lead CBS reporter at the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger in 1986. The Radio and Television News Directors Association awarded Glenn the Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast of 2005.
