William Roy Clark, 83, Yuba City, CA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in Marysville, CA. William was born July 21, 1932 in Lidgerwood, ND to Roy and Rosa (Fust) Clark. He was baptized and confirmed at Holy Cross Lutheran Church and graduated from High School in 1950. He attended college at NDSU in Fargo, ND. He joined the ROTC program and became a Commissioned Officer in the US Air Force. On December 27, 1955 he married the former Grace Novotny in Lidgerwood, ND. During his Air Force career he served in many different capacities. His first assignment was in the Fighter Command as an Instructor Pilot. Later, he served in The Strategic Air Command as a Tanker pilot. He did a tour of duty in Vietnam in the Reconnaissance Wing flying combat missions in the EC 121 Flying Command post where he was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross. He finished his career at Beale Air Force in the SR71 program as the Chief Instructor Pilot for the supporting Tanker squadron. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and flying his powered-parachute. Bill was very active in his church in Yuba City serving as an usher and was involved with several committees and church programs. Bill will be missed and remembered as a very caring and kind man to all those whose lives he touched. He always had a story to tell and was often referred to as "Billy" by his mother and cousins. His sense of humor will always be remembered. Bill is survived by his two sons, Paul William Clark and his wife, Eileen, of Roseville, CA, Perry Lee Clark and his fiance', Deanna Soria, of Sacramento, CA, two granddaughters, Amanda Clark, Fair Oaks, CA and Elizabeth Cassaday, Sacramento, CA, his two brothers, Kenneth Clark and Lyle Clark and sister, Lucille Kutter, all of Lidgerwood, ND
