MRS. MARY A. SKAHILL
Mrs. Mary A Skahill, 98, formerly of 745 Harvard St., Dubuque and rural Cascade, died at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 1980, at Luther Manor.
Her husband, James, died in 1938.
Services were at 11 a.m. Monday at Nativity Church, with burial in Temple Hill.
Friends called from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hoffmann Mortuary, where the wake service was held at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Skahill was born in Bellevue, Iowa, and was a member of Nativity Rosary Society, Nativity Guild and Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Nello (Elda) O'Connell and Mrs. Albert (Inez) Zipper, both of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Ralph (Viola) Hoover of Pueblo, Colo., Mrs. Delos (Norma) Kemp of Barrington, Ill., and Mrs. Raymond (Marguerite) Connolly and Mrs. Joseph (Calista) Lakeman, both of Dubuque, 26 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Ted (Margaret) Mootz and Mrs. John (Tilda) Mootz, both of Bellevue, and Mrs. Bert (Adlyn) Vesta of North Hollywood, Calif.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Charles, Herbert and Orville Skahill.
Memorials may be given to Nativity Church and Luther Manor.
