Jim was a friend to everyone and was loved by everyone. He served in Korea from 1950 to 1951. He belonged to the VFW in Shelton and was part of their drill team in the 1950's and they won many awards for their precision drills. He was an avid bowler for many years in different bowling lanes. He retired from AVCO in 1995 after working there for 43 years. He loved watching the UCONN girls basketball team and he did get to the UCONN campus for several games that he enjoyed. He is survived by his wife Helen Gatley Clifford, a son James Jr., daughter Kathleen Clifford Adams, a daughter Diane Clifford Millan, a granddaughter Tammy Ruggiero Boylan, a granddaughter Alexandra Millan, a great grandson Dominick James Boylan, a son in law Jose Millan and a son in law Walter Adams.
