Edward Albin Anderson

Funeral services were held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Caribou Thursday afternoon for Edward Anderson, 92, whose death occurred at a Caribou hospital May 7 after a brief illness. Born in New Sweden June 18, 1880, he was the son of Olof and Johanna (Rosene) Anderson.

He was a retired farmer, had served as a US Postal Service rural mail carrier. He was a past member of the New Sweden Band and was the oldest male resident of New Sweden.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian (Hanson) Anderson of New Sweden whom he married on August 11, 1909; a son, Warren E Anderson of Caribou; two daughters, Mrs Oliver (Dorren) Blais of Portland and Mrs Charles (Madeline) Wedberg of New Sweden; a brother, Herman Anderson of Titusville, FL; two sisters, Mrs. Herman (Edith) Thorsen of Avoca, NY, Mrs. Mable Espling of Avoca, NY; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Services were conducted by Rev Dwight Campbell, pastor of the First Baptist Church of New Sweden. Pallbearers were grandsons, Richard Anderson, Rodney Anderson, Hartley Wedberg, Alton Wedberg, Richard MacCormack, Larry Blais. Interment was in the New Sweden Cemetery.
