Ruth was born to missionaries Albert Towart Page and Lovine (Lou) Farrington Page. Her father died in 1918 and her mother died in 1919. Ruth's father was born in Victoria Australia and I assume that Ruth was sent to her father's family there after the death of her mother in 1919. 14% of the population of the Fiji Islands died of the Spanish Flu which raged from mid 1918-late 1919 so my guess is that it was the flu that killed her parents and weakened her though I have no data to support that. Ruth Page was my second cousin once removed.
