Lurlie was a quiet woman who loved her family and friends. She also loved Lee County.
She was born in Stickleyville, VA to the late William Jackson Rasnic and Jennie Plaster Rasnic. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Olen Wesley Rasnic and special mother-in-law, Ruth Livesay Sword.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Preston “P.C” Sword; two sons, William P. “Billy” Sword and wife Tanya and James Adam Sword; daughter, Rebecca Ruth Lease; two brothers, Rufes Rasnic and wife Thelma and William “Jack” Rasnic and wife Earnesteen; twin sister, Shirley Clark and husband Pete; two other sisters, Glenda Blair and husband Herman and Patti Jones and husband John; grandchildren, Stephanie Dawn Skidmore, Austin Lee Coomer, Emmalie Rose Coomer and Carly Brianne Ingle; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving canine companion, Samantha.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, at Robinette Funeral Home in Jonesville. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Davis Jr. and Rev. Greg Rasnic officiating. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, in Lee Memorial Gardens. Those who wish may meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to travel in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rufes Rasnic, Jack Rasnic, Bret Clark, Evan Jones, John Jones and Wesley Rasnic.
