Mary was probably born in Stony Creek township, Madison County where her parents lived in 1850. Her parents had been married for 10 years without any children when she was born and were in their mid and late 40's. They each had grown children from prior marriages by that time, so she was more like an only child.

Her husband, Samuel DeHaven Wolfe, was a Civil War Veteran and she died in the Indiana Soldiers Home and then was brought back to Anderson to be buried with him. There is no mention of descendants in her obituary.

There is no marker on her grave in the old West Maplewood Cemetery.
