David Perry Goyer was born to Dennis and Cora (Thompson) Goyer on Nov. 24, 1924 in Oklahoma City. He died Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the Norman Regional Hospital at the age of 81.
Mr. Goyer entered the U.S. Navy Dec. 9, 1942, at Albuquerque, N.M., and served during WWII, receiving the Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the Philippine Liberation Campaign Ribbon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Nancy Allen Epperson.
Survivors include a daughter, Rose Sloan of Norman and her fianc? Michael Chandler; sons Robert Goyer of Washington State and Greg Goyer of Oklahoma City; sister Mary Phillips of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild and other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Concord Missionary Baptist Church of Norman with the Rev. R.D. Clark officiating and honor guard presented by the U.S. Navy. Services are directed by McMahans Funeral Home of Noble.
