"JOHN NYE (Benjamin). His date of birth is not given on the town records. In 1678 took the oath of fidelity and served on the Grand-jury the same year. With his brother, Ebenezer, he purchased one hundred acres of land in the town of Falmouth and in 1689 they were granted two hundred acres more.
At a town meeting May 10, 1694, he was appointed on a committee to 'Erect two cottages on the plain remote about the town most convenient for shepherds to dwell in.'
September 19, 1695, he and William Bassett were appointed a committee 'to provide a suitable person to keep school in our town for one year, for the sum of ten pounds, for his encouragement or recompense, either master or mistress."

His, and his wife's, wills are fully transcribed in this book which can be found in Google Books.
