She received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from and was employed for many years at Bethany Medical Center in Kansas City Kansas.
In the early 1980's, she divorced John and moved to Independence KS with her Mom and the boys.
She worked at Mercy Hospital in their Critical Care Unit and continued her nursing education, obtaining her Registered Nurse degree from Labette County Community College.
She married Jerry Easterly on October 11, 1986. They were proud to say they never had an argument. They were soul mates.
Aunt Cathy "adopted" many people. I can't even number how many people called her "Mom". Her heart was so over-flowing with love, she couldn't keep it all inside.
When my Mom (her sister) passed away, she adopted us, as well. We were her " 'nother kids".
She is my mentor and I credit her with teaching me how to be a "Girl". Not long ago, she told me she couldn't have loved me more if I'd been her own daughter.
Ditto, Aunt Cathy.
