Howard Nickolas Cook, age 90 of Kennard, died Monday March 28, 2016 in Kennard. Funeral Service 10:30 AM Friday at Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard with burial following in the Kennard Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church from 6-8 PM.

Howard Nickolas Cook was born on October 1, 1925 in Kennard, Nebraska to Peter and Gabrielle (Corson) Cook. He married Annabel “Billie” Davis on November 2, 1945. The couple had five children: Linda Kahnk of Kennard, Sandra (Carmen) Goodrich of Woodbine, Iowa, Dorothy Kuehn of Blair, Gary (Kay) Cook of Kennard, and Jim (Beth) Cook of Scottsdale, Arizona.

He is survived by his three daughters Linda Kahnk, Sandra Goodrich and Dorothy Kuehn; two sons, Gary and Jim; 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Nina Phalen of Lyons.

He was preceded in death by his wife Billie, three brothers: Harry, Leo, and Jack Helmsing, son-in-law Rollie Kahnk and grandson Dan Kahnk.

Memorials may be directed to the Grace United Methodist Church or the Kennard Rescue Squad.
