Beloved husband of Lula Elizabeth Herrin. Walter Levosier Pevehouse and Lula Elizabeth Herrin were married on January 16, 1895 in Navarro Co Texas.

He served as Sheriff of Navarro Co Texas Nov. 5, 1912 - Nov 7, 1916
Walter Pevehouse was born at Dresden, Navarro Co., TX on June 3, 1865, to David Arthur & Melinda (Pierce) Pevehouse, Sr. He married Lula Elizabeth Herrin, and they had a family of five children. [note: some sources list 6]
He farmed most of his life. He was elected for two terms, in 1912 and 1914, and, since two terms was the custom, he never ran for office again.
Several murder, burglary, and bootlegging cases were the principal tasks he handled.
For deputies he had Walter Hayes, Dave Seaton, and John Curington, all well known law officers.

Funeral Services Walter L. Pevehouse At Blooming Grove
Walter L. Pevehouse, 79, died at this home at Blooming Grove, Wednesday night following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Methodist church at Blooming Grove, with Rev. S. T. Brockette, pastor, conducting the rites. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
A native of Navarro County he was a member of a pioneer family. He was the son of the late David and Lucindy Pierce Pevehouse. He was active in affairs of the community and served several years as a peace officer. He was constable of the Blooming Grove precinct and was sheriff of Navarro County from 1912 to 1916.
Surviving are his wife, Blooming Grove; two daughters, Mrs. W. C. Absher, Corsicana; Mrs. Ruth Morgan, Los Angeles, Calif.; Three sons, Rufus Pevehouse, deputy U. S. marshal, Dallas; Clarence Pevehouse, city attorney, Corsicana; one brother Will Pevehouse, Blooming Grove; six grandchildren and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Fred Prince, Walter Hayes, John George, H. S. Whorton, R. S. High and D. E. Magee.
McCormick Funeral Services directed the arrangements.
