Denee Marie Romriell Barnes, 76, of Idaho Falls passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Teton Post Acute Care and Rehab in Idaho Falls.

She was born May 7, 1939 in Pocatello, Idaho to Lloyd Delmont Romriell and Mildred Elizabeth Hancock Romriell. She was raised and attended schools in the Pocatello area, and graduated from Pocatello High School. On December 4, 1963, she married Harold Thomas Barnes in Milo, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple April 16, 1968. Denee and Harold were the parents of 5 children and 4 foster children. She worked as a nurses aid, at Idaho Potato Growers and then at Emerson Elementary School as a head custodian until retiring.

Denee was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served in several capacities including a full-time missionary to the Central Atlantic States. Denee was always cheerful and was known for her caring and loving ways. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheri Powell, of Idaho Falls, Linnea (Don) Schmidlin, of Banks, Oregon, sons, Kendle Barnes, of Idaho Falls, Mark (Brenda) Barnes, of Rigby, brothers, Walter (Linda) Romriell of Menan, Arthur (Terry) Romriell, of Rigby, 13 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, David Barnes, sisters, Aileen Romriell, Elizabeth Romriell, Janet Romriell and brother, Kenneth Romriell.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Foothill Ward LDS Chapel (12127 North 75th East, Idaho Falls, ID 83401) with Bishop Earl Killian, conducting. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
