Thomas Jackson, Hillsdale, dies
Thomas J. Jackson, 91, of Route 1, Hillsdale, died at Vermillion County Hospital at 8:12 p.m. Thursday. His death was unexpected.
He was born April 2, 1891, the son of Enoch and Anna Belle Jackson, residents of Hillsdale, Route 1. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Clinton American Legion Post.
Surviving are four nephews, Ernest Shell of Louisville, KY., Leslie Lohrman and Forest Lohrman, both of Route 1 Hillsdale; two nieces, Anna Harney of Pasadena, Calif., and Mary Belle Forein of Santa Monica, Calif., as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Karanovich Funeral Home with Rev. James McMahon officiating. Interment will be in Helt's Prairie cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
Tom was a farmer who never married. He could grow about anything, and was very generous with his plants and trees. He was a faithful and devoted friend to many, and enjoyed spending time with them as much as possible.
