She was born May 18, 1917 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Charles J. and Jesse I (Pritchard) Seaman.

In Sept. 1966 her name was changed to Thelma Stanley.

She moved to Fremont, Nebraska in 1968.

The former Thelma (Seaman) Stanley, she was married in Fremont at Trinity Lutheran to Gilbert Echtenkamp on October 25, 1968. Mr. Echtenkamp is a native of Arlington.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Thelma died January 4, 1988, at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County, Fremont, from diabetic complications.

Left with memories are husband Gilbert, son Nicholas Stanley of Houston, Texas, daughter Patricia Stanley of Dallas, Texas, step-daughter Mrs. Gilbert (Judy) Holstein of Wichita, Kansas, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and brother Charles Seaman of Indianapolis.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gilbert (Thelma) Echtenkamp, 70, of Fremont were held January 8, 1988 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Rev. Donald Levenhagen officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund and the American Diabetes Association.
