Born in Turney, Missouri, on February 7, 1923, Mrs. Huckaby moved with her family to Stewartsville, Missouri, and then Colorado. She had resided in Pueblo, Colorado, until moving to Plattsburg in 1975 and Florence in 1984.
A former homemaker, she was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Florence.
On December 31, 1941, she married Charles A. Huckaby in Plattsburg. He died in 1976.
Mrs. Huckaby also was preceded in death by her parents, Smith T. and Mary E. Christian; and two brothers and three sisters.
Surviving: four sons, Charles D., Graham, Washington, John L., Canon City, Colorado, and Stanley S. and Dan L., both of Pueblo; three daughters, Mary B. Dow, Chickasha, Oklahoma, Alice J. Rogers, Pueblo, and Lillie J. Huckaby, Florence; two sisters, Lucy Cannon, Stewartsville, and Emmajean Askren, St. Joseph; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Graveside memorial service and inurnment: 11 a.m. Friday, Green Lawn Cemetery, Plattsburg.
The body has been cremated. There will be no visitation. Arrangements: Cox Funeral Home, Plattsburg.
