He was a son of James Henry Edward and Mary Lula (Owens) Allen.
He married (1) Frankie Edwards. Their children were: Charles Robin, Travis Dale and Elaine Allen.

Charles Lee Allen, age 86, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at his residence.
Born in Franklin Co., GA, on April 9, 1929, he was the son of the late James Henry Allen and the late Mary Lula Owens Allen. Mr. Allen worked at Tenneco Plant (Monroe) located in Hartwell, GA, for over 38 years where he later retired. He was an avid musician who enjoyed playing the guitar and performed in several bands. He also was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Hazel Roach Allen of the home; three children, Travis Allen and his wife Elaine of Royston, GA, Rob Allen and his wife Jan of Hartwell, GA and Lainie Bailey-Hicks Estrada also of Hartwell, GA; mother of his children Frankie Allen Harris; five grandchildren, Jason Allen, Evan Bailey, Amber (Allen) Henderson, Miranda Segars, and Maisie Dowis; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Chris Bailey; brothers, Ira, James, Calvin, Edward, and George Allen; sisters, Pearl Dove, Lois Jordan, Bertha Pearson, Leila Funkhouser, and Louise Roper; and former wives Geraldine Allen and Opal Allen.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
