HUGH WOOD TWIN TO WILLIAM
Hugh Wood, was born July 15,1851 in Knox Co. Tenn. Departed this life April 2,1934 at his home in Louisville at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 17 days.
Hugh and his twin brother William are the youngest of a family of 12 children born to Sarah Kirkpatrick and John A.S. Wood. Five sons Robert and George, one son dying in infancy and William the only son living In Hoosier Township, Clay Co. Ill Seven daughters, name Lucinda 93 years of age, living in Okla, Elizabeth 91. living in Paragon Ind. Mary, Margret, Nancy, Ellen--(Ellender Bryant) deceased;
John Wood moved his family to Hoosier Township Clay Co, Ill. in early day having traveled by covered wagon making the trip from Tenn., when William and Hugh, were quiet young and built the four room log house in Hoosier Township miles north west of Sailor Springs is now situated. Hugh grew to manhood and married to Mary Wade in 1873 and built a house near the old homestead in the surrounding neighborhood.
Hugh and his companion are the parents of 3 children two sons died in infancy, William the only son lives in Louisville.
Their grief for the loss of their 2 children, but took two small children to raise. Lola Harmon the daughter of Harmons of Lefamon Ill and Verlie their grand daughter of Jess Stanley of Louisville. These girls loved their grandparents dearly;
Hugh leaves to mourn his going his much beloved and grieved wife, one son William, one brother William, one grand daughter Verlie Stanley, one foster daughter Lola Harmon, 7 foster grandchildren, two sisters, and a host of nephews and neices and other relatives, friends and neighbors;
