Thomas Brook Summers, 39, and Heidi Burtenshaw Summers, 36, of Ammon, passed away on the morning of March 13, 2016. The small airplane they were flying in crashed within miles of the Alpine, Wyoming airport.

They left behind four beautiful children, Sadie (12), Aspen (10), Maizy (8), and Nixon (6). Brook was the son of Charles and Janet Summers. Heidi was the daughter of Craig and Karma Burtenshaw.

Heidi was born December 4, 1979, in Idaho Falls, Idaho She is 5th of the six children born to Craig & Karma Burtenshaw. Siblings: Mindy, Bryce, John, Mark & Jake. Heidi both grew up in southeast Idaho and graduated from Bonneville High School. She attended Ricks College. She was married to Thomas Brook Summers on February 11, 2000. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 6, 2001. Her husband, Brook, graduated from Idaho State University and later received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Pacific in San Francisco. While in San Francisco, Heidi worked as an orthodontic assistant supporting her husband through dental school.

They enjoyed skiing, tennis, and traveling. Above all, their kids were the focus of their lives and they meant everything to Brook and Heidi.

They were members of the 29th Ward in the Ammon LDS Foothills Stake.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the Ammon Foothills Stake Center, 3934 East 49th South, with Bishop Brigham Redd officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.

They will be extremely missed by family, friends, and patients.

Victims of plane crash

BONNEVILLE COUNTY, Idaho -
The Bonneville County sheriff's office has released the names of the two couples killed in a plane crash Sunday.

Jerry "David" Anderson, 40, the pilot of the plane, and his wife Jessica Ann Anderson, 38, were killed. Thomas "Brook" Summers, 39, and his wife Heidi Summers, 36, were also killed in the crash.

The Anderson's have three children. David worked for Anderson Hitches in Idaho Falls.

The Summers' have four children. Brook was a dentist at Family Dental Health Center in Idaho Falls.

Bonneville County Sheriff office said the airplane was a 4 passenger, 1958 Cessna, 182A, single engine, fixed wing.

The plane left the Alpine, Wyoming airport in the early morning hours Sunday and crashed shortly after take off. It crashed about a mile from the airport, they reported.

The crash was not reported to the sheriff office until late afternoon.

This is the fourth plane accident to happen in the Alpine area since August 2015.

The NTSB is now investigating the accident.
