R.L. Overstreet, 59, 3382 Highway 63 Waynesboro, died
Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1993, at the Wayne GeneralHospital. The funeral services was Oct. 8 at Freeman Chapel,with burial in Little Rock Cemetery. The Revs. BobbyWright and Norman Sanders officiated.
He was an inspector for Mississippi Department of
Transportation, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a
member of Little Rock Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey C. Overstreet of
Waynesboro; a son, David Overstreet of Waynesboro; two
daughters, Tonya Chapman of Carthage ans Sondra Mathis
of Waynesboro; five Brothers, Toy Overstreet of
Oklahoma City, OK., Boyce Overstreet of Ocean, NJ.,
Gene Overstreet of Thomasville, AL. and William
Overstreet, Jr. and Mod Overstreet, both of
Waynesboro; four sisters, Glenda Armstrong of Millry,
AL, Willa Walters of Ellisville, Azel Cooley of Clara
and Tobie Shirley of Waynesboro; and two
grandchildren, Justin Overstreet and Ashley Mathis,
both of Waynesboro.
Freeman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

R.L.is the son of William Overstreet, Sr. {former Tax Assessor & Collector of Wayne County. A farmer who taught singing
school with his wife playing the piano. He sang
himself into "office" for two terms. His education was
limited. His descendants have done well.
