Gladys Mae (Bell) Taylor Atchison was born on Feb. 16, 1920, in Moodys to Dave Wesley and Ada (Carroll) Bell, and passed away on Friday, July 28, 2006, in Broken Arrow.

Gladys was a fun loving and feisty lady who enjoyed having a good time with her family and friends, and especially loved spending the holidays with them.

She liked listening to gospel and country music, always enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Everybody Loves Raymond, and playing bingo with friends. Gladys also loved traveling with her second husband and took many trips in their recreational vehicle.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Coweta. She was also a recent member of the Red Hat Society. Earlier in life, she was a longtime member of the Moodys Home Extension Club.

Gladys enjoyed herself and wanted others around her to have fun. Her flirty and outgoing personality will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Theodore P. Taylor; her second husband, Ed Atchison; infant children Patricia and Teddy Dean Taylor; daughter Barbara Louise Mills and husband David Mills; granddaughter, Vicki Lynn Mills; sisters Lucille Carroll and Cordelia Kelley; and brothers, Leonard and Bill Bell.

She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands; sister; three grandchildren; great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and loved ones.

Services for Gladys Mae Taylor Atchison, age 86, will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. James Ogle of the Moodys Church of Christ and Mr. Dean Stafford of Broken Arrow Grace Assembly officiating.

Interment will follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
