SYKES Mrs. Jessie Mary (May) Sykes (Forrest) aged 91, passed away peacefully in Pioneer Ridge Home for the aged, Thunder Bay, Ontario on Monday, March 26, 2001. Born in Fort William, Ontario, May was raised in Hymers, Ontario and educated in the Thunder Bay District. Predeceased by her husband Gerald, brothers John, Jim and David and sister Moira. May is survived by her daughter Kay, husband Robert, their four children and seven grandchildren; her son Michael and wife Jan; her sister Betty McCutcheon, sisters-in-law Elaine Forrest, Margaret Forrest and Mimi Forrest and nieces and nephews. May and Gerald married in 1931 and spent the first eight years of their marriage in Kaministakwa (Dog River) and moved to Geraldton in 1939. In 1955 they returned to Port Arthur and May was involved with the Port Arthur Curling Club, Hymers Fair, and numerous bridge clubs. May enjoyed gardening, readingand bird watching and was a member of St. Paul's United Church. Special thank you to May's niece Patricia Forrest and the staff of Plaza 3, Pioneer Ridge for their kind and loving care. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at a later date."
