Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Haga Stoots, of Atkins; five daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Henderlite, Hudson, N.C., Mrs. Frances Powell, Mrs. Virginia Jones, Miss Karen Stoots, all of Atkins, Mrs. Shirley Hutton, Mineral Wells, Texas; a son, Garland Stoots, Jr., Lenoir, N.C.; four brothers, Charles Stoots, Marion, Carl Stoots, Volney, Raymond Stoots, Whiteford, Md., William Stoots, Glen Arm, Md.; four sisters, Mrs. Helen Leftwich, Mrs. Charlotte Pearce, Whiteford, Md., Mrs. Ruby Haga, Delta, Pa., Mrs. Margaret Stale, Bristol, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday in Barnett's Funeral chapel, Marion, with interment in Sunset Memorial cemetery, Rural Retreat. The Rev. Lloyd Greer and the Rev. Herbert Williams officiated.
