Funeral services for James T. Sweat, who died Saturday, were held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Elizabeth Chapel Church in Bacon county, with the Rev. B. C. Davis officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, J. T. Sweat, Jr., Jacksonville, and Homer Sweat, Waycross; three daughters, Mrs. Leo Carter, Miss Peggy Sweat, Miss Glenda Sweat, all of Waycross; five sisters, Mrs. Annie Hendricks, Macon, Mrs. Elizabeth Phillips, Atlanta, Mrs. Beulah Nelson and Mrs. Effie Mae Gust, both of Woodbine; Mrs. G. L. Crosby, Waycross; three brothers, Arthur Sweat, Gus Sweat, both of Alma and Hoke Sweat of Waycross.
Active pallbearers were Dorris Williford, Robert Bryant, McQuay Taylor, Cecil Neil, Winston Crosby and Virgil Sweat.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack Thigpen, M. H . Reed, F. J. Beverly, B. M. Johnson, Melvin Bennett, and L. L. Cleland.
Mincy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
