Louise Countryman Casey Sackett, 93, of Syracuse , died Friday at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a 1931 graduate of Central High School. Louise was employed by General Electric Co., retiring in 1976 after 17 years. Her greatest happiness came from being with her family, playing the piano, reading, traveling, crocheting and playing golf.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Casey Marrs of Syracuse ; son, Dr. James B. (Dr. Diane) Casey of Oak Lawn, IL; stepson, Stephen B. (Georganne) Sackett of Liverpool; brother, Richard C. Countryman of Whitesboro; grandson, David H. (Jacqueline) Marrs, Jr. of Syracuse ; granddaughters, Melinda L. (Mark) Mayer and Amy E. (Mark) Gasowski, both of Syracuse ; step grandchildren, Stephen B. Sackett of Manhattan, Lisa A. Sackett of Liverpool, Nathan and Jeremy Smith of OH; sister-in-law, Beatrice Countryman of FL; great- grandchildren, Andrea and John Marrs, Casey and Mark Mayer, Mark and Gabrielle Gasowski, all of Syracuse ; step great-grandson, Zachary Smith of OH; cousin, Gilbert (Elva) Goff of Minoa and sister-in-law, Rosie Lucio of Camillus. Louise was predeceased by her first husband, John (Jack) Casey (1958), second husband, Maj. Anthony B. Sackett (2000), son- in-law, David H. Marrs, Sr. (2004), brother, David (Bud) Countryman and sister-in-law, Lucille Countryman.
Private services will be at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
