Obituary:
Mr. Emma Lou Pelton Lee, age 75, of Tallapoosa passed away Monday, February 29, 2016.
Mrs. Lee was born in Anson, Texas on March 19, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Cecil Jackson Pelton and the late Myrtle Lee Simpson Pelton.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Billie Evelyn Newman; and two brothers, Jimmy Wayne Pelton and Walter Lee Pelton.
Mrs. Pelton graduated from West Georgia College and was a certified dietician. She worked for 14 years for Minnie Pearl of the Grand Ole Opry in food service management. She also managed three cafeterias in Atlanta including one in Underground Atlanta as well as Annewakee Treatment Center.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Herbert Lee of Tallapoosa; one sister and brother-in-law, Ima Jean and Carl Miller of San Antonio, TX; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Alton Stamey officiating. Music will be rendered by Willard Hamilton, Ricky Grant, Ken Alexander and Jerry McCarley.
Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Willard Hamilton, Ricky Grant, Ken Alexander, Jerry McCarley, Tim Owens, Donny Pitts and Chad Sosebee.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
