George Albert Stroud was born on Oct. 5, 1920 in Fordland near Marshfield, Webster County, Missouri. His family moved around between Texas and Missourri several times and ended up in Ellis county Texas. He met Margie Louise Sutton and soon they were married and he was of to fight in World War 2. He served on a tank. He was trained to man all the stations in his tank. He faught in Germany and had many many war stories to tell.
After the war he and his knew family were in Grapevine, Texas. He ang Margie Louise had three daughters: Judith Ann Stroud Bear, Carolyn Stroud Young and Debbie Stroud Smith. My mother Judy was born not long after he left far Germany. My grandmother send him a picture of there knew daughter and he kept it in the but of his gun far the duration of the war. We still have the picture in the family.
He worked far many years in various feed mills as a maintenance man. In later years of his life he developed emphasima. It eventually took him.
He was very very devoted to his family, friends and country. We all miss him very much.
