He was one of the most courageous men we have ever known. He fought a good, long fight and his battle is now over. He retired after twenty years of dedicated service from the Army National Guard where he proudly served his country. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Salem Lutheran Church. He loved to hunt and enjoyed doing so until his declining health prevented him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and JoAnn Coggins; brothers, Bill and Tim Coggins; and father-in-law, Castor Ottinger.
Funeral Services will be at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in the Manes Funeral Home West Chapel with Rev. Norman Deal officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 25, 2016 in the Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday in the Manes Funeral Home West Chapel prior to the funeral services.
