Sumner Hastings Wance, 57, retired farmer of Aaronsburg, died at the Centre County Hospital Tuesday, March 18, 1952.
Born in Aaronsburg March 11, 1895, he was the son of William Winfield and Margaret Long Wance. He married the former Ruth Margaret Winkelblech on December 24, 1915. He was a member of the Aaronsburg Lutheran Church.
Surviving were his mother, his wife, and six children: Malvin L., Edward W., Aaronsburg; William W., Riverside Maryland; Marcia Lee, Harrisburg; Mrs. Jean Swartz, Thomponsontown; and Corporal Richard O. Wance, stationed with the Air Corps at Stewart Air Force Base, Tennessee.
Four grandchildren, a brother, Lawrence, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Weaver, both of Aaronsburg, also survived.
Funeral services were held from the Aaronsburg Lutheran Church with the Reverend J.S. Shannon officiating.
Burial was at the Lutheran Cemetery, Aaronsburg.
