Riley Irvin was born in Putnam Co. Ind. Nov. 29, 1829. Died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Jemima Marlowe near Roberts on Thursday evenning Feb. 25th. He was one of eleven children two of whom survive. Josiah Irvin, who lives near Attica and Mrs. Sumalt of Okla. He was twice married, his first wife was Millie Bethel, a sister of Tom Bethel, of Roberts. To them were born three children, of whom Mrs. Marlowe is the only one living. There are two granddaughters, Mrs. James J. Brown of Attica R.R. 6, and Mrs. J.E. Lindsey of Leota Landing, Miss. Two great grand children, Mildred and Harold Brown. The second wife was Rachel Johnson who survives him. The funeral was held at the Marlowe home on Saturday afternoon, interment in Riverside cemetery.
