Mrs. Nellie W. Askren, 78, of Kansas City, Kan., died Monday at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. She was born in Corydon, Ind., and had lived in this area 40 years, Mrs. Askren was a member of the Corydon Christian Church. She leaves a son, Charles W. Askren, Lathrop, Mo.; a brother, William Rowland, and a sister, Helen Rowland, both of Corydon; 14 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Amos Chapel; burial in Chapel Hill Cemeter. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel.
